Mom Texts Daughter Photo Of Man Who Made Her Cry At Grocery Store So She Posts His Pic Online To Find Him

Dark times like the ones we are currently going through can bring out the best or the worst in people. While there are some people around us who hoard toilet paper and much-needed food supplies, not giving others the chance to provide for their families, there are also others who see this time of crisis as an opportunity to help neighbors and fellow humans.

One of those people is Denny Brown, a young man in San Antonio, decided that this was the perfect moment to be kind and generous towards those around him, especially elderly people, who are so scared and -many of them- alone during this period.

So, when he went to Walmart the other day and he saw two elderly women waiting in line to pay for their groceries, he thought it would be nice of him to offer to pay for their purchases. The women were shocked by his kind gesture and didn’t know what to say or how to thank him. One of them took a picture of him with her phone and sent it to her daughter explaining what the guy had done for her that day.

The woman’s daughter, Debra Mota, was so moved by the young man’s generosity that, somehow, she wanted him to get the recognition he deserved for his deed. So, she posted the photo, along with a short text explaining what happened, on social media.

“(My mom) texted me a picture of this man and told me that he was standing in line and told her he wanted to buy her groceries and then he would also buy the lady’s groceries that was behind her,” she wrote.

She added that the man also told her mother that she could go back and buy more groceries if she wanted, and, in the meantime, he would wait there for her and pay for everything. The woman didn’t know what to say, but she only assured the man that this was all she needed and she was really grateful to him for his kindness.

“She had happy tears when she left the store. Yes, there are good people out there doing wonderful things for strangers. We don’t know who this man was, but I also want to thank him,” the lady’s daughter added in her post.

Luckily, thanks to the power of social media, which can sometimes prove to be catastrophic but other times be really helpful, Mota was able to track down the young man, who appears to be a Roosevelt High School Graduate.

“Thanks to everyone who shared this, we found this awesome man. His name is Denny Brown. Sending him high fives & blessings from Virginia.”

The North East Independent School District reposted the woman’s story on their Facebook page, showing how proud they are of the former student.

It is so heartwarming to see people caring for fellow citizens and it is a reminder that there still is good in the world.
